Teaching the Black Freedom Struggle in the Black Lives Matter Era

Wednesday, October 20, 2021 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

This K-12 professional development program helps educators and
student teachers craft powerful anti-racist lessons on the history of
the Black freedom struggle. Join Montclair State professors and
educators from the New-York Historical Society for an engaging
workshop that will include hands-on activities with primary historical
texts relating to women in the Black civil rights movement. Our goal is to help teachers contextualize the Black Lives
Matter movement in the long civil rights movement.
