From Good to Great: Listening for Possibility
The French philosopher Paul Valéry once said: “The future is not what it used to be,” and as we all try to emerge from this unprecedented pandemic, our futures, both personally and professionally, will most certainly not be what they used to be. How can we best deal creatively with the unpredictability of the future to find the opportunities embedded in this unique pandemic moment?
The heart of the program is an exploration of the profound difference between good and great. What makes a musical idea, an ensemble, a product, a company or a leader great? What makes a great project team or a great board successful? Where does creativity and innovation begin?
Through a series of highly entertaining, yet deeply meaningful interactions between Mr. Kapilow, a string quartet, and the audience, the program explores topics from the entire spectrum of corporate life--leadership, collaboration, negotiation, change management, innovation, and creativity, --all looked at through the prism of a particular type of listening--listening for possibility. What would it look like to bring this kind of listening for possibility to every team, client, staff, and board meeting as well as each interaction in our daily personal and corporate lives?
No interest in music is required! All that is required is an interest in moving from good to great and a willingness to bring a new kind of listening--listening for possibility--to each moment of our personal and professional lives.
