The PSEG Institute for Sustainability Studies, in partnership with the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) NYC's Latinos in Sustainability (LIS), encourages you to join us on Thursday, February 11th from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM EST for the first installment of a three part virtual webinar series, The Intersection of Climate and Social Justice Part 1: A History of Place-Based Racial Inequities.
Part 1, A History of Place-Based Racial Inequities, will aim to provide a fundamental understanding of how institutional racism has impacted the health and well-being of BIPOC communities. We will be joined by expert Dr. Lorena Estrada-Martínez, a social epidemiologist and Assistant Professor of Public Health at the University of Massachusetts. Her research on Latinx and Black youth has focused on the impact of cultural and structural dimensions of family and neighborhood factors on disparities in mental health and behavioral outcomes from adolescence through adulthood.
