Looking at and then learning the score of any piece is only the first step in a convincing performance of Baroque music. This illustrated lecture will show how performers in 17th and 18th century music were expected to "complete" the works that were started by composers through ornamentation, improvisation, rubato, and even articulation techniques not indicated on the score.
