The five members of Artic 5 (four from Sweden and one from Mexico) will perform standard classical pieces for quintet written by composers such as Nielson, Ligeti, Ibert, Barber, Peterson-Berger and Medaglia as well as popular music by Abba. They are interested in very different kinds of historical, modern and popular musical expressions, and work to shape their performances with a deep understanding and learning of the differences in musical genres. The quintet continually celebrates their culture through performances at the Swedish Church of New York and the Scandinavia House - The Nordic Center in America.
