About the Speaker - Michael Caracappa

Attorney Alumni - Speaker MichaelMichael Caracappa is a 2015 graduate of Montclair State University and a recipient of the Rapoport Legal Scholarship. He graduated from Montclair magna cum laude, receiving his BA in Jurisprudence and Political Science. After Montclair, Michael attended Seton Hall University School of Law, where he graduated in 2018 and was inducted into the Order of the Coif.

In his first year of law school, Michael was invited to become a research fellow for Professor Mark Denbeaux and contributed to the 2016 Bloomfield Racial Profiling Report, which was featured on Vice News. In his second year, Michael worked for a white collar criminal defense firm, where his time was divided between complex corporate and criminal litigation. During his third year of law school, Michael represented indigent clients in tenancy and foreclosure matters for the Seton Hall Center for Social Justice’s Civil Litigation Clinic, and was part of a team handling a class action lawsuit. For his work Michael received the Center for Social Justice’s award for Outstanding Contribution to the Civil Litigation Clinic.

Michael was also an active member of the Seton Hall Law Review and the Seton Hall Legislative Journal. He published an article on Title VII in 2018, and is publishing a second article on a corporate choice of law issue in 2019.

Michael is currently serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Walter F. Timpone, Associate Justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court.
