Film Screening: 20 Days in Mariupol

An Academy Award® nominee for best documentary feature film, 20 Days in Mariupol, by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Mstyslav Chernov, is a vivid and harrowing account of the besieged city of Mariupol during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. You are invited to join the Montclair State University community for a screening of the film, along with a moderated panel discussion and reception.

The program will include remarks from Montclair State University President Jonathan Koppell and philanthropist Jacquie Colgan. The panel discussion will be moderated by renowned scholar and psychologist Pavlo Lushyn, research professor of Educational Foundations at Montclair, who fled Ukraine in 2022. Among the panelists will be:

  • Michael Levdanski, whose family escaped Mariupol after hiding for a month in a bunker
  • Marianna Tretiak, president of the American Coalition for Ukraine and national advocacy chair of the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America
